KUCHING: The very first Pan Borneo Highway ‘Kick-Off Project’ (KOP) from Jalan Nyabau to Simpang Bakun has been completed and will be opened to the public on Monday (Oct 14), according to the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak.
The KOP is a four-lane dual carriageway road measuring 43km, announced the department in a press statement today.
“However, there are some balance works that need to be carried out at the beginning and end chainage of the road,” the statement explained.
The department urged road users to follow the traffic management plan and slow down as they approach and drive through the construction zones at the beginning and end chainage of the road.
Road users were also reminded to use the ‘P-Turn’ provided along the road, said the department.
“No illegal turning shall be allowed.
“A true dream of Sarawakians in having the highway has now become a reality. Please be safe and careful on the road as we want you and your family to reach your destination safely,” it concluded.
