According to SMC chairman Clarence Ting, the shopping premises include supermarkets, mini markets, convenient stores, and pharmacies during the movement control order (MCO) period.
SMC and the police will enforce the following rules that supermarkets, mini markets, convenient stores, pharmacies and private clinics shall have big displays on social distancing at entrances; set up crowd control outside so that inside the premises will not be too crowded for shoppers, and cashier counters to have social distancing markers of one metre apart clearly marked, he said.
Ting added that from March 24, all business opening hours will be from 7am till 7pm.
We urge everyone in Sibu to please take note, he said.
Meanwhile, in his Facebook post today, he praised supermarkets such as Daesco for responded to the call for crowd control, adding that there was also temperature checking.
I really appreciate Sibu’s supermarkets prompt response to SMCs call for the need to have crowd control, he said.
