KUCHING: The Malaysian Productivity Council (MPC), Sarawak has lined up 56 capacity development programmes to be held throughout the state this year.-
According to MPC Board of Directors member Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg, there will be also other programmes for those who wish to train --themselves or their workers in productivity management and development.-
-As the focus for this year, we have shifted our attention towards changing into a digital society as our core theme,- said Abang Karim.-
He was speaking at the launching of the 2018 MPC capacity development programme at MPC state headquarters in Demak near here yesterday.-
Abang Karim said MPC looked forward to playing a greater role in spearheading the change in promoting productivity, especially in relation to diverting the shift of focus towards the digital age.-
-Last year we had about 70 programmes involving more than 2,400 participants, which is among the highest organised by MPC.-
However, we are keen to organise more events apart from the 56 programmes planned for 2018,- he added.-
For this year, Abang Karim said MPC aimed to lure experts from universities to be part of the team, and expressed his confidence of MPC forming a very supportive team.-
-We also have divided our programmes into three sections, where each section will enable us to further improve effectiveness before our trainees move into advanced level,- he said.-
Abang Karim also expressed his hope that upgrading of workers- skill will be a trend among employers as it will lead to a more efficient and capable workforce.-
Later, he presented the -Healthy Certificates- to staff of MPC Demak.
